Early Talent Competition: Epic Games and the Future of Mobility
University of Michigan students: This is your opportunity to turn a visionary idea into a career-defining industry project.
Epic Games, the creator of the world-famous game Fortnite, is hosting an exclusive Early Talent Competition challenging U-M students to imagine the future of mobility using Unreal Engine. This is the same real-time 3D platform used by industry leaders to design next-generation vehicles and immersive experiences. Participants will explore and reimagine mobility—from smarter vehicles to entirely new ways of moving through our world.
No Unreal Engine experience is required. We are looking for bold ideas and creative thinkers from every major and discipline.
What to Expect
Launch your journey at Designing an Unreal Future: An Epic × Michigan Industry Day on September 18 to:
● Discover how Unreal Engine is revolutionizing industries beyond gaming
● Uncover the official competition challenge and problem statement
● Collaborate with ambitious peers from across all Michigan campuses
● Engage with leaders from Epic Games and major Michigan-based innovators like Rivian, GM, and Ford
● Kickstart your project with direct guidance from the experts
Following the kickoff, you will have until September 25 to bring your vision to life and submit your proposal. Winners will be celebrated on October 2.

Who can participate?
