Thinking about getting involved in arts research at the University of Michigan? Join the University of Michigan Arts Initiative for a virtual open house to learn about two opportunities for students across campus: the Graduate Student Arts Research Grant (GSARG) and FEAST (Faculty Engineering/Arts Student Teams).

GSARG provides grants of up to $3,000 to support graduate student-led research projects that incorporate artistic practices, methods, or approaches. Open to graduate students across U-M, the program supports innovative and interdisciplinary research that integrates the arts into scholarship and inquiry.

FEAST brings together faculty and students from different disciplines to collaborate on faculty-led arts research projects. Undergraduate and graduate students join interdisciplinary research teams, contribute their own skills and perspectives to an ongoing project, and earn course credit for their participation. FEAST is designed to create opportunities for students to engage directly in collaborative arts research while working across disciplinary boundaries.

During this informal session, we’ll introduce both programs, explain eligibility and how to apply or get involved, review key deadlines, and share examples of the kinds of projects each program supports. You’ll also have plenty of time to ask questions and determine which opportunity might be the right fit for your interests.
