Last chance to visit Medical History museum exhibit
An exhibit at the Museum on Main Street that has marked 175 years of medical history at U-M with artifacts, photos and documents will close August 30 after 11 months of welcoming members of the U-M and local community.
The museum has set special hours for its final days: Friday, Aug. 28 from 12-4 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 29 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Sunday, Aug. 30 from 12-4 p.m.
The museum is located at 500 N. Main St. near the Kerrytown district, in a historic house that was moved to the spot in 1990 from its original location near the Kellogg Eye Center on Wall Street. It is run by the Washtenaw County Historical Society, which partnered with the Michigan Medicine Department of Communication, the Medical School's Center for History, Humanities, Arts, Social Sciences and Ethics in Medicine, the Nursing History Society and the Bentley Historical Library to create the exhibit.
Admission is free and there is an accessible entrance at the rear of the building. There are activities for children available, and free items for all while supplies last. Parking is available at the museum and nearby.
