Stories of Home invites community members to come together for an inspiring afternoon of creativity, connection, and personal storytelling.

Presented by Every Soul Arts as a companion program to the Sofa Stories performance and film screening, this interactive workshop transforms the Ypsilanti Freighthouse into a welcoming space for reflection, conversation, and shared narratives.

Led by the artists behind Sofa Stories, the event begins with a hands-on storytelling session designed to help participants craft and shape their own personal stories. The program then transitions into a community stage where attendees are invited to share short stories inspired by the theme of Home, whether it’s a place they’ve left behind, a sanctuary they’ve found, or a sense of belonging they’ve created for themselves.
