Dataset Days - Finding Data In Deep Blue Data, U-M’s Institutional Data Repository

Learn how to access and use datasets from Deep Blue Data, U-M’s institutional data repository. This repository contains datasets from Anthropology to Zoology and every discipline in between! Data librarians, Peter Cerda and Joanna Thielen, will briefly discuss how U-M researchers deposit their datasets into Deep Blue Data, including the thorough review process that each dataset goes through before publication. Students will learn how to access metadata and documentation for a dataset, download its files and comply with its license. Finally, students will get hands-on experience accessing, downloading and evaluating a dataset from Deep Blue Data.

Speakers: Peter Cerda and Joanna Thielen are data librarians in the U-M Library. They primarily help researchers use U-M’s two institutional repositories, Deep Blue Documents and Deep Blue Data.
