In this talk, Classen will explore the history and mission of the University of Michigan Biological Station (UMBS) as a place where people come together to learn from the natural world, advance research and education and inspire action to address today's environmental challenges. An internationally recognized ecosystem ecologist, Classen is leading the UMBS into its second century by expanding year-round research and education, strengthening partnerships across the university and beyond and ensuring the Biological Station remains a global leader in field-based science and environmental education.
