ISBA Education Session 3: Networking and Coffee Chats
From navigating the infamous networking “circles of death” at company presentations to figuring out who to reach out to and what to actually say in a coffee chat, networking during recruiting can feel awkward, daunting, and unclear.
In this in-person ISBA Education Session, we’ll break down networking and coffee chats across different recruiting paths, including consulting, finance, tech, general management, and more. We’ll cover how to use alumni outreach, corporate presentations, treks, club events, and one-on-one conversations effectively; who to prioritize; how to manage follow-ups; and how to make conversations feel more natural and less transactional.
You’ll hear directly from MBA2s across different recruiting paths:
1. Keshav Muralitharan – Lincoln International, Investment Banking
2. Aditya Verma – Colgate-Palmolive, General Management
3. Debdeep (Neel) Ghosal – McKinsey & Company, Consulting
4. Shirley Giraldo – Samsung Electronics, Strategy / Partnerships
Date: September 18, 2026
Time: 4:00 - 5:00 PM
Venue: Ross R2220
RSVP now to MaizePages! This will be a members only event so make sure you get your memberships now or at the event door.
And this won’t just be a panel. You’ll also get a chance to practice your pitch / Odyssey / introduction and take part in a mock networking circle (aka circle of death), so you can try it out before the next company presentation.
Come with your questions, practice in a low-stakes setting, and leave with a much clearer system for approaching networking during your MBA.
