The University of Michigan Department of Sociology and the Lieberthal-Rogel Center for Chinese Studies (LRCCS) invite you to an event celebrating the release of The Great Separation and honoring the life and legacy of Professor Xiaohong Xu.

A distinguished sociologist of history, politics, culture, political economy, and China, Professor Xu passed away December 2023 and will be remembered for his boundless generosity, dedication to critical inquiry, and profound commitment to nurturing the next generation of scholars.

Please join us either in-person or virtually as we celebrate this work and pay tribute to Professor Xu’s legacy.
