IGR is proud to be celebrating 25 years of dialogue, empowerment, and social justice this year. As part of this celebration, we are offering a symposium to anyone with an interest in working toward social justice through engaged pedagogies.

Engaged Learning In a Digital Age: What's In It For Students?

Symposium sessions will look at engaged pedagogies:

In Classrooms - Through an interactive panel discussion, this session will explore the meaning of engaged pedagogies in classroom settings. This session will feature IGR, PCAP, UROP, MCSP, and the School of Social Work as models of engaged pedagogy.

On Campus - Engaged pedagogies are employed in a variety of campus learning opportunities outside of the classroom. This session will look at the most promising practices and give an opportunity for participants to share their own experiences.

In Communities – This session will explore how engaged pedagogies are used in the community, both with college students and with community members. The session will not be limited to, but will place special emphasis on, work with youth in communities.
