Gift of Life is a national bone marrow and stem cell registry that connects patients battling blood cancers like leukemia and lymphoma with donors who can save their lives. Most patients don't have a match in their family, so they rely on strangers joining the registry. Our University of Michigan chapter has added over 2,700 Wolverines to the registry, leading to 18 confirmed matches and 3 life-saving transplants. This fall's Swab Week runs November 2 to 6 on the Diag, and this week we are going up against Ohio State in registrations. Joining takes about five minutes: fill out a quick form and swab your cheek. If you're between 18 and 35 and in good health, stop by, bring your friends, and you could be the match that gives someone a second chance at life.
