LSI Follow the Science: When Cancer Cells Invade
Stephen J. Weiss, M.D. on the mechanics of metastasis
How are cancer cells able to spread through the body, moving through other tissues as they metastasize? Understanding the mechanics of metastasis has opened a door to the discovery of new drugs to help keep cancer in check. The research of Stephen J. Weiss at U-M's Life Sciences Institute has produced findings could lead to the rapid development of new anticancer drugs that block the disease's invasion. At this lecture, Dr. Weiss will explain his work and discuss some of the new treatments on the horizon.
Location: Forum Hall, Palmer Commons, 100 Washtenaw Avenue, Ann Arbor. Public parking is available in the visitor garage on Palmer Drive. Refreshments provided.
