Presentation by Madeleine Harris (MSP24; PhD candidate, Classical Studies)
Museum stewardship, the process by which museums build and nurture relationships with the individuals and organizations who support them, is an integral part of development work. Stewardship can take many forms, ranging from individual contact to widespread outreach campaigns. This summer, I had the opportunity to learn more about this process with the University of Michigan Art Museum’s Development team. This presentation will explore how UMMA develops and fosters its relationships with donors and supporters, with a particular focus on “impact reports” and museum member stewardship.
