MAVEN Launch Party
The launch of the MAVEN (Mars Atmosphere and Volatile EvolutioN) spacecraft!
Free pizza, popcorn and pop!
Join AOSS and SPRL as we celebrate the launch of the MAVEN (Mars Atmosphere and Volatile EvolutioN) spacecraft!
It is the first spacecraft devoted to exploring and understanding the Martian upper atmosphere.
We are especially excited for the AOSS faculty who are working on the mission, including Co-I Professor Stephen Bougher, Professor Mike Combi and Emeritus Professor Andy Nagy.
We also want to acknowledge the Space Physics Research Laboratory, which built a number of the subsystems of the MAVEN Neutral Gas and Ion Mass Spectrometer (NGIMS).
