Get into the maize and blue holiday spirit as the University of Michigan Detroit Center participates in Midtown Detroit’s 41st Annual Noel Night. Co-hosted with the Michigan State University Detroit Center and Whole Foods, this free and fun-filled event takes place on Saturday, December 7 from 5 – 10 p.m.

This year’s festivities include holiday music performances by the University of Michigan’s School of Music (UMMS), the Detroit School of Arts (DSA), holiday crafts and a scavenger hunt. In addition to the great entertainment, enjoy sweet treats at the U-M Detroit Center while you soak in the holiday spirit.

Art Exhibits

“Detroit Collective” Work”¢Detroit Art Gallery
Curated by Robert Mirek and featuring work from more than 30 artists, “Detroit Collective” highlights dedicated studio artists, writers and designers who have made significant contributions to Detroit’s cultural climate since the 1970s. The exhibition is made possible by the University of Michigan Penny W. Stamps School of Arts and Design.

Kunlun Wildlife Photography Exhibition Lobby & South Study
Enjoy the natural wonders of China’s Qinghai Province in this colorful photographic exhibit of Kunlun National Park. The exhibition is made possible by the University of Michigan’s Confucius Institute.

South Midtown Scavenger Hunt
Join in on the fun to search for clues at five South Midtown sites for a chance to win a gift basket filled with items worth over $200. Sites include Cinema Detroit at the Burton Theatre, Great Lakes Coffee Roasting Company, Michigan State University Detroit Center, University of Michigan Detroit Center and Whole Foods Market. Ask a U-M Detroit Center Staff Member for instructions and a clue sheet.

Refreshments: Ann Arbor Room and South Studio, Holiday cookies, donuts, coffee and hot chocolate.
