The Making Of The Modern Middle East: War, Colonialism and Citizenship

The lecture will examine the pivotal events of World War I, in terms of their effects on the geo-political order of the region. Moreover, particular attention will be paid to the civilian catastrophe that accompanied the war years leaving a lasting mark on the region's inhabitants.
