Film Studies: The History of Innovation in Films--OLLI Study Group (50+)

Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at U-M

The epic story of innovation in movie production and technology will be guided by film historian, Mark Cousins. The film begins with the invention of motion pictures at the end of the 19th century and concludes with the multi-billion dollar, globalized digital industry of the 21st. There are clips from some of the greatest movies ever made and feature interviews with legendary filmmakers and actors. Our members will take turns leading a discussion each week following the viewing of the 15-chapter film, "The Story of Film."
