Speaker: Mark a. Barteau, Director U of M Energy Institute, Professor of Chemical Engineering.
The mission of the Energy Institute is to chart a path to a clean, affordable and sustainable future by applying its strengths in science, technology, economics and policy to produce solutions to meet our energy challenges. This talk will provide perspectives on the global scale of our energy challenges, while looking at some of the underlying variations with time and place. It will also consider the need for “cross-over” of resources, particularly renewable resources, from electricity generation to meeting our needs for transportation in realistic ways.
