Art, music, atmosphere–the University of Michigan Museum of Art invites you to spend the evening with us at this free community event. More than 1,300 people attended UMMA After Hours last fall for this festive gathering! Explore the permanent collection galleries and enjoy special exhibitions including architecture, landscape, and Islamic art from Doris Duke's Shangri La; an installation of UMMA's photography collection by guest curator and U-M Professor of Art Larry Cressman; and a trio of new media works presented in the exhibition Affecting the Audience: Anthony Discenza, Aurelien Froment, and Dora Garcia. Enjoy live music by
The Mark Stone Trio whose compositions range from Indian Carnatic and Hindustani to American jazz to African mbira/marimba music. Curators' conversations and light refreshments round out the event. The Mark Stone Trio is presented in partnership with the Center for World Performance Studies and the LSA Theme Semester “India in the World”.
