Jon Reed's ancestor served with the Michigan 6th Regiment and 1st Corps d'Afrique, fighting rebels in the Louisiana swamps. The 1st Corps d'Afrique is the first black Union regiment derived from the formerly Confederate 1st Louisiana Native Guard. This class will describe his adventures. Mr. Reed will present a 40-minute PowerPoint lecture in Union officer's uniform, followed by a Q and A session. He has written two e-published books on the Civil War.
