Offered in conjunction with the University of Michigan’s winter theme semester entitled India in the World, this exhibition, drawn from UMMA’s permanent collection, explores how the British colonial territories of India and Egypt were portrayed by early photographers working in those lands. Docents will introduce the work of these photographers, many of whom lived and worked in these territories.
