How should our judgments about criminal guilt and innocence be influenced by neurological findings? How should neuroscience inform our practices of intervention, sentencing, and rehabilitation? How should judges and juries evaluate evidence about defendants' brain states? Who has a right to acquire and use such evidence? And who has a right for it not to be acquired? These are just a few questions in the rapidly developing field of neurolaw---the study of the interface between neuroscience and legal thought and practice. Addressing the descriptive and normative dimensions of such questions requires serious engagement with philosophy, psychology, and other areas in cognitive science. The 2014 Weinberg Symposium is an interdisciplinary conversation with eminent researchers in each of these fields.
