The University of Michigan Physics Department invites you to a special screening of the award-winning, Particle Fever, at the Michigan Theater on Monday, March 31 at 7:00 PM.

Imagine being able to watch as Edison turned on the first light bulb, or as Franklin received his first jolt of electricity. For the first time, a film gives audiences a front row seat to a significant and inspiring scientific breakthrough as it happens. Particle Fever follows six brilliant scientists during the launch of the Large Hadron Collider, marking the start-up of the biggest and most expensive experiment in the history of the planet, pushing the edge of human innovation.

Part of the Michigan Theater’s Science on Screen series, the evening will feature a post screening Q&A with Johns Hopkins University physics and astronomy Professor David E. Kaplan, who produced the film and appears in it. Professor Kaplan’s visit is made possible by Saturday Morning Physics and the U-M Physics Department.
