Information Sessions on Teaching and Research at UMMA
FOR U-M NORTH CAMPUS FACULTY AND GRADUATE STUDENTS
The University of Michigan Museum of Art will be holding information sessions on teaching and research with our collection at the Duderstadt Center on North Campus on Thursday, March 20, 2:00-3:00. A grant from the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation enables us to provide faculty and graduate students with direct and personalized assistance with collections searches, object research, and curriculum development, as well as with accessing art with classes or for research. We are particularly interested in promoting creative, interdisciplinary approaches to teaching with visual and material culture and in assisting innovative use of our collection by faculty and graduate students who work in academic units that do not regularly work with art objects. We have had notable successes working with instructors in a wide range of programs, including Theater and Drama, Psychology, Kinesiology, and numerous new partners from across the humanities.
These two sessions will take place in Conference Room 4 of the Duderstadt Center and will be conducted by the Mellon Academic Coordinator, David Choberka, and Mellon Collections Assistant, Anne Drozd. Interested faculty and graduate students are invited to attend. The session will be a reiteration of the sessions that we've offered in previous semesters. If you have any questions or would like more information but are not able to attend the session, please contact David Choberka (dchoberk@umich.edu).
