City Year Detroit Immersion Excursion
Want to see first hand how people are transforming and re-building Detroit communities?
Have you wondered how you could help change lives through your work?
Would you like to see how people impact the lives of students on a day-to-day basis?
Have you considered education and want to experience what its like behind the desk and leading the class?
City Year Detroit is all about changing the lives of students and transforming the Detroit community by working with 4th-9th grade students through service programs including school-based service, youth leadership and community transformation and UM students have to chance to get an insider look at how City Year does their work! We have only SIX spots left for UM students to experience how current Corp members at City Year Detroit are transforming students and Detroit. This Immersion is a MORNING event in Detroit for UM students to go inside a partnering City Year school, observe a corp member in their classroom, learn about the planning process, and talk with UM alumni and past corp members about their work in Detroit and their passion for what they do. You will also get to learn about gap year opportunities and the application process for City Year.
This immersion will be the morning of FRIDAY, APRIL 4th. (Travel is included)
APPLICATION CLOSES ON MONDAY, March 24!
This event is for ALL class levels and majors!
Seniors and juniors looking for gap year opportunities are highly encouraged to apply!

1. Search for the posting on the Career Center Connector
2. Submit your resume and a paragraph on why you are interested in attending this Immersion. To submit your paragraph, you must FIRST upload it under your “documents” tab on your C3 profile before you can select it on the application.
