"Inorganic Physiology: Testing a Cell's Metal"
The George A. Lindsay Collegiate Professorship in Chemistry and Biophysics Inaugural Lecture
This presentation will describe the use of x-ray fluorescence to determine the sub-cellular localization of metals in cells with a spatial resolution as good as ~100 nanometers and will demonstrate how this information can be used to provide new insights into the basis of cadmium toxicity and the mechanisms of metal homeostasis.
