Lafayette, Louisiana's Stanley "Buckwheat" Dural Jr. is a protégé of the great Clifton Chenier. Zydeco music blends Afro-Caribbean rhythms with blues, soul, rock, country, and Cajun French music. Buckwheat and his band, Buckwheat Zydeco, have taken this red-hot hybrid from the Louisiana swamps into rock arenas, to two presidential inaugurations, and to the Super Bowl halftime show. A master of the piano accordion and the B3 organ, Buckwheat is ready to bring some Louisiana hot sauce to Michigan! Buckwheat's latest adult release, "Lay Your Burden Down," features zydeco reinventions of songs by Led Zeppelin ("When The Levee Breaks"), Bruce Springsteen ("Back In Your Arms"), Gov't Mule (the title track), and even Captain Beefheart ("Too Much Time"); it won a Grammy for best cajun/zydeco album.
