Presented By: Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (50+)
Dramatic Woes and Evil Foes-Script Reading and Analysis
OLLI Study Group (50+)
Class meets Mondays, April 14 - May 19.
Instructors: Sherry Root, Mort Chethik and Thorne Compton.
Have you that secret desire to perform as an actor or actress? This "alive" class will give you that opportunity. Each week, a scene from a well-known play will be acted aloud, and then analyzed as to characters. Sherry will begin by acting a scene from "Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf" with its battering clash of personalities. Following the reading, Mort and Thorne will help us discern not only what's being said but what is not. In the weeks following, class members may volunteer to act a scene with analysis to follow. We'll have a bit of Shakespeare and then reach ahead to our most contemporary of classic dramas.
