Art and Fashion Immersion - Los Angeles
Will you be in LA this summer? || Are you interested in art or fashion?
Have you wondered what its like to work in a creative industry like fashion or art? What careers paths are available within these fields?
Would you like to get an insider's look at a career in fashion or art?
Join The Career Center on the Art and Fashion Immersion on Tuesday, June 10 in Los Angeles and have the opportunity to go behind the scenes at LACMA (Los Angeles County Museum of Art) and Decades, a vintage couture consignment retailer.
This unique full-day event offers students an opportunity to explore a "day in the life" of an employee at an art museum and a vintage retailer boutique. Both LACMA and Decades have generously opened their doors to UM students to tour their spaces, talk with current employees, learn about their business, and have Q&A to learn more about both the art and fashion industry. Students will meet UM alumni working in the art and design fields, including Decades co-owner and fashion designer Christos Garkinos.
Career Center staff will be in LA to guide participants through the visit. This will be an all day event and more details about the day will be provided to selected participants.
Students from all academic majors and class levels are encouraged to apply. (Immersions are for undergraduate students ONLY)
PLEASE NOTE - All transportation and travel is the responsibility of the student. Therefore, those in the LA area are especially encouraged to apply.
