National Nursing Workforce Shortage: What is the Future for Public Health?
Public Health Grand Rounds
Presentations will explore the changing nursing workforce and the implications for current and future public health nursing. Speakers will review recent trends in the workforce, address policy and research priorities, and describe initiatives and programs focusing on workforce sustainability. Distinguished speakers include Dr. Peter Buerhaus, director of the Center for Interdisciplinary Health Workforce Studies and Valere Potter Distinguished Professor of Nursing, Institute for Medicine and Public Health at Vanderbilt University, Dr. Kyu Rhee, Chief Public Health Officer, Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA), U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, and Dr. Susan Hassmiller, Senior Adviser for Nursing, Robert Wood Johnson Foundation.
