This class will focus on the reading of "Children of the Days", published in 2013. In polished historical vignettes, Eduardo Galeano, the award winner and prolific Uruguayan writer, "uproots stories from the past while contextualizing them in the present" according to Greg Grandin. Translated into 30 languages, Galeano has taught how to live and how to remember. Each vignette, brief and concise, opens the mind of the reader to a broader world, to a broader truth. In reading them, supportive material will be provided when and if necessary.
