MLK 2010 Symposium event: STILL BLACK: A Portrait of Black Transmen
As part of the University of Michigan Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. 2010 Symposium, the Spectrum Center, along with UMHS Comprehensive Gender Services Program, will be sponsoring a screening of STILL BLACK: a portrait of black transmen.
The film will be screened on Wednesday, January 20 at 6:00pm in the School of Social Work's Educational Conference Center (ECC), 1st floor, Room 1840 School of Social Work Building (SSWB). The screening will be followed by a facilitated discussion.
STILL BLACK: a portrait of black transmen is an alternative feature-length documentary that explores the lives of six black transgender men living in the United States. Through the intimate stories of their lives as artists, students, husbands, fathers, lawyers, and teachers, the film offers viewers a complex and multi-faceted image of race, sexuality and trans identity.
