In commemoration of the death of Martha, the last Passenger pigeon 100 years ago, our discussion will focus on the forces that cause extinction, and current efforts at conservation in and near the Great Lakes. How does what is going on locally relate to global biodiversity challenges? Join Sara Adlerstein-Gonzalez and Johannes Foufopoulos of the U-M School of Natural Resources and the Environment (SNRE) and Jim Diana, Professor of SNRE and Director of Michigan Sea Grant, for a lively discussion of past errors, current efforts, and future biodiversity.
