When Cleveland native Marc Cohn released a luminous piece of pure pop songcraft called "Walking in Memphis" in 1991, he earned a Best New Artist Grammy and a permanent place in American musical consciousness. Under the stress of national and world events and a 2005 incident in Denver in which he was shot in the head by a carjacker, "it was like my songwriting receiver got flipped into the on position," Marc says. Always an introspective lyricist who makes every word count, Marc has released several impressive albums over the past decade. He has a resonant, supple baritone singer who makes you feel you've always known his voice. On his latest album, "Listening Room, 1970," Marc pays tribute to some of the pop music that inspired him. Marc Cohn is a local favorite whose music offers an extraordinary experience in a room the size of The Arkāhis shows have been consistent sellouts, so don't delay on getting tickets!
