Eddie from Ohio, actually a quartet from Virginia, offers lyrically driven and often humorous original music, sung in four-part harmonies over a background of acoustic strings and hand and stick percussion. Their vocal blend, rhythmic vigor, and prolific original material combine to make music unlike anything else on the market—sort of like Peter, Paul & Mary on high-octane French roast, they say. "The manic strumminess recalls Ani DiFranco or Dave Matthews," says Performing Songwriter, "but there's also a deep undercurrent of high, lonesome mountain harmony that should appeal to fans of Alison Krauss and Union Station." The Edheads will be out in force for this show (get tickets early), because Eddie from Ohio isn't on the road as often as they used to be. You may have heard EFO guitarist Robbie Schaefer hosting his own show evenings on the XM radio Kids Place Live satellite channel. Whenever and wherever the four convene on stage, an Eddie from Ohio show is an experience to remember.
