For Jean L. Thomson, watercolor in any form comes from both a love of nature and a desire for self-expression. Chinese Sumi painting reinterprets nature in an abstract manner that is similar to the art of calligraphy. Thomson holds a BFA from Syracuse University and for many years exhibited widely from her home studio in St. Michaels, Maryland. She currently resides in Oakland County.
