"The Joy of Stats: So Much More than Bean-Counting!"
Statistics is much more than mere facts, it is data science. I outline some important contributions of statistics to science and society. I review the Bayes versus frequentist controversy, and a compromise position, Calibrated Bayes. These ideas are applied to a case study on assessing the efficacy of homeopathic treatments.
