LARGE CORPORATIONS AND THE FUTURE OF AMERICAN DEMOCRACY
Mark S. Mizruchi, Professor of Sociology & Business Administration, U-M.
Professor Mizruchi will discuss the role of big business in the postwar period, the group’s response to the crisis of the 1970s, its subsequent fragmentation in the 1980s, and its current inability to address not only issues of concern to the larger society, but even those in which business itself has an interest. He will illustrate this with discussions of tax policy and health care.” His most recent book is “The Fracturing of the American Corporate Elite.”
