As part of its Black History Month program, the University of Michigan Detroit Center presents the discussion panel, “Love the Police? A Black Man’s Guide to Surviving a Police Encounter,” on Friday, February 13 from 7-8:30 p.m.
Within the context of recent controversial community/law enforcement events in New York City and Ferguson, MO, “Love the Police?” focuses on the strained relationships between African American males and police across the country. Our discussion panel of community leaders and police officials will address ways to improve the relationships between law enforcement and communities they are designed to serve and protect.
