Good Old War, an independent trio from Philadelphia, is made up of Keith Goodwin, Daniel Schwartz, and Tim Arnold. The band's name comes from the last names of the three members; Goodwin for Good, Arnold for Old, and Schwartz for War. They use guitars, keyboards, and drums, and, says the All Music Guide, "the band manages to sound like the Flaming Lips fronted by Paul Simon." Good Old War was a breakout act at both the SXSW and Coachella festivals a few years back. Newly signed to the Nettwerk label, they come to Michigan in the midst of work on a brand-new release. Good Old War has been praised for their "flawless vocal harmonies" (Wall Street Journal) and "catchy and refined” songs (NPR). You Won't, the Boston duo of Josh Arnoudse and Raky Sastri, opens.
