In the words of Professor Atshan, "Being Palestinian is one part of my identity. Being gay is another. The two cannot be divorced." This lecture will discuss the intersections and interactions of queerness in the context of Palestinian/Arab identity. Professor Sa'ed Atshan is a queer Palestinian academic, a postdoctoral fellow at Brown University, and a member of alQaws, an organization promoting LGBTQ rights for Palestinians in Israel and the Occupied Territories.
