HARRY TRUMAN: CONTAINMENT AND THE COLD WAR
Bruce L. Zellers, Greenhills School Teacher
Professor Zellers will discuss how Harry Truman came to see the post-World War II relationship between the U.S.A. and the U.S.S.R., how he decided among competing strategies for meeting that relationship, and the way in which the Cold War’s policy of containment evolved from his decisions.
Bruce is also a Special Lecturer at Oakland University. He has published book reviews in a number of journals, including the Michigan War Studies Review, and frequently lectures on 20th century military history and the Cold War.
