As Vice President of the Detroit Economic Growth Corp., Malik Goodwin is responsible for managing the internal administrative activities of the DEGC Project Management Group, and for providing oversight and support to the Director and Senior Project Managers, and the Real Estate Manager. He also directly administers special projects related to infrastructure improvements, and provides technical support to the Executive Vice President of Contract Services on emerging city economic development initiatives. He managed the $17 million Paradise Valley Cultural and Entertainment District Project, and infrastructure improvements to the Capitol Park sub-district of downtown Detroit, as well as over $20 million in infrastructure and streetscape improvements to three main streets in downtown Detroit (Broadway Avenue, Woodward Avenue and Washington Boulevard, also known as the Lower Woodward Streetscape Improvement Projects). His most recent work has included administering the Detroit Works- Long Term Planning initiative (completed in January 2013), and providing administrative support towards the impending launch of implementation initiatives associated with the Detroit Future City framework. Goodwin’s work at the DEGC has helped support nearly $850 million in public and private investments in the central business district since 2002.
