In the tradition of the Ann Arbor Symposia of 1978, 1979, and 1981, Symposium IV provides a forum for interdisciplinary discourse. The Symposium IV topic is the teaching and learning of popular music in elementary, secondary, and tertiary education. Guest Speakers include: Lori Burns, University of Ottawa; John Covach, University of Rochester Institute for Popular Music; Lauri Väkevä, Sibelius Academy of the University of the Arts Helsinki; Jacqueline Warwick, Dalhousie University; and Ruth Wright, Western University.
