Danielle Evans's work has appeared in magazines including The Paris Review, A Public Space, Callaloo, and Phoebe. Her stories have been anthologized in The Best American Short Stories 2008 and are forthcoming in New Stories from the South and The Best American Short Stories 2010. Her short story collection, Before You Suffocate Your Own Fool Self, will be published by Riverhead books in September 2010, and she is currently at work on a novel titled The Empire Has No Clothes. She teaches fiction at American University in Washington, DC.
