Digital History Workshop: "Text Visualization and Corpus Linguistics"

Michelle Moravec, Rosemont College

Professor Moravec is one of the leading scholars applying digital methods for analyzing texts to the field of women’s history. She has been particularly interested in the women’s movement and the public sphere; her current project, The Politics of Women’s Culture uses a combination of digital and traditional approaches to develop an intellectual history of women’s culture. She will talk with us about her experiences training herself in digital techniques and integrating them into the women’s history, and then lead a workshop on some techniques for textual analysis using Antconc.
