Data Worshop - Sustainablity Awareness & Behavior
John Callewaert & Rovert Marans
This workshop is for any U-M faculty member or graduate student interested in working with datasets about sustainability.
- The data could provide interesting opportunities for scholarly investigation, dissertation work, and applied inquiry in support of campus initiatives.
The workshop will provide:
- An overview of SCIP and the datasets
- Key findings
- Examples of supplemental analyses by the SCIP team
- Examples of how U-M staff have used SCIP data to inform their work
The datasets are the result of the Sustainability Culture Indicators Program (SCIP), a central component of the U-M Campus Sustainability Community Awareness goal area.
Survey datasets include the annual responses (2012-2014) from more than 6000 U-M students, faculty, and staff on a broad range of questions regarding sustainability awareness and behavior. Questions cover topics such as travel and transportation, waste prevention and conservation, the natural environment, climate change, food, engagement, and key geographic and demographic variables.
Lunch will be provided. Please RSVP by January 11, 2016.
