Bifaces, often beautifully fashioned out of high-quality exotic flint, are hallmarks of the Paleoindian period. Most archaeologists view these bifaces as light-weight, flexible core-tools that allowed Paleoindians to exploit distant areas where the availability of suitable local flint was uncertain. This view is likely wrong....
