For classes with a strong communication and collaboration component, students need the face time with their classmates to sty on top of the work. Tools like Tinychat or Skype enable synchronous communications from multiple locations that can help your students stay connected with you and each other. This workshop will cover Skype and Tinychat, a simple online conference that enable up to twelve (12) people to see and talk to each other with high quality video, and more could participate by audio or text chat only. Skype is a software application that allows users to see and talk with up to four (4) participants. In addition to contact hour uses, these tools could provide online office hour options.
