Explore the relationships between music, neuroscience and neurological disorders (including Parkinson's and Alzheimer's diseases), using clinical cases described by Oliver Sacks in his book Musicophilia: Tales of Music and the Brain (please purchase or borrow the book). We'll discuss chapters from this book and learn a bit about nervous system anatomy and function. Bryan Singer, Ph.D., is a research fellow in biopsychology at UM and a Science Communications Fellow for the Ruthven Museum of Natural History. He has also taught neurobiology at UM-Dearborn. This class for adults 50+ meets Fridays through October 21st.
