EXCEL Talk: Latitude49
“Crossing the Parallel: From College to Career”
U-M alumni ensemble Latitude49 offers a combined roundtable discussion and masterclass where they share experiences coming out of school and into portfolio careers -- taking orchestral auditions, creating freelance performing, arts administration and teaching roles, and more -- illuminating the breadth and depth of pathways to success for the performers of tomorrow. A 45-minute opening discussion will be followed by a masterclass with SMTD chamber groups, who will learn real time tactics for optimizing communication and problem solving at the early stages of rehearsing new chamber works.
Free - no tickets required
Latitude49’s weeklong residency is sponsored in collaboration with SMTD’s new Department of Chamber Music.
